Was this a page turning book? It wasn't entirely a page turner for me. I felt that some sections needed far more attention than others, but I desired to keep reading and know how everything played out.
What have you read that is similar to this book? Honestly, nothing. I believe this is one of a kind read. I understand this is the second in a series, and I am in the midst of finishing the first book.
What do you think the author was trying to accomplish with this novel? I believe the author was trying to share his love of history. Something he did very well in writing this book.
At the end of the book, do you feel hope for the characters? I felt that most main characters completed everything they wanted during the book.
Did you find any flaws in the book? The only problem I had with this book is the length. This would be a great mini-series. For example, 2-5 chapters per episode. Please remember this is just my opinion. The length does not take away the sense of adventure you get from the book.
Disclosure: I received a copy from the author for an honest review.
